"The Future is Past" is a durational performance that explores themes of ancestry, emigration, family history and the deterioration and re-assemblage of family stories. On May 14, I will publicly create an artwork within an artwork. The object I will create "Singing Dress" is inspired by my ancestral connections with Ireland. The Singing Dress was on display at the Rua Red gallery in Dublin, Ireland in July, 2011 as part of the "Freedom of the City" show curated by MART.
